Just a quick reminder that the first transfer period in the RedSpottedHanky Wimbledon game ends today. I trust you have used up first batch of 10 to maximise the number of games played so far. If you have any remaining keep reading for a way you can still use them – by 3pm today!

With the shocking number of high ranking players dropping out of the championship competition yesterday (either withdrawals due to injury, or simply loosing matches) this is actually great news for trying to maximise our earning of game points (for free train tickets) during the competition.

The good news on the players front:

Had all the top seeds made it through with the lower ranking players dropping out, more and more of the matches would have been played by people in the Group A and B selections, and we can only have 1 male and 1 female Group A player in our team selection each day, the same for Group B. Our Group C players, and Wild Cards would have been of decreased use to earn game points.

With more top seeds out, the Wild Card position, Group C and even Group B lists should remain a good source of game points for longer in the competition.

Remember each game point converts into 3p of credit, and each a straight sets win by a wild card player therefore gets you £0.72. You should ideally be looking to pickup points everyday of the competition.

Use any remaining transfers by 3pm today

You will get a fresh bundle of 10 transfers at 15:00. I hope you have used your previous supply up during the game up to this point – to increase the number of matches you could take part in by swapping players overnight.

Keep in mind if you transfer someone after the days play has begun at Wimbledon you don’t earn points from them until the next day of play.

Now this means that (given play has started now), if you transfer people today you want to be in your side tomorrow, you should be able to use up some of your remaining transfers by 3pm, when they will be replaced by a new set of 10.

I would not transfer people who have yet to play today, there is a bit of ambiguity about whether you get their remaining earnings today, or if you stop earning the moment you transfer them out of the team selection. You certainly don’t earn with new people transferred in until tomorrow.
