… or are they in the process of acquiring “IB.com”?
In the latest issue of the Iberia Plus online magazine I was surprised to read the following:
With the purchases you make at ib.com you can choose to pay with the PayPal option, …
Not the PayPal bit, BA has offered this for some time, but the ‘ib.com’ domain name – given that Iberia’s main website is at iberia.com. I had not heard of them acquiring the ib.com domain. Also I would be somewhat surprised at them moving to ib.com for marketing reasons.
Yet no, the actual website found at ib.com is still a totally different company trying to sell people … domain names ironically enough!
So this is probably just another of the many typos or mistakes appear only in the English language versions of Iberia content, carried over from draft versions or due the translation process.
It will no doubt be correct when you look at the Spanish language version of the magazine – but no, it says the same thing in Spanish:
Also some other graphics are starting to use ‘IB’ on its own in logo font styling:
I have no idea if Iberia are actually in the process of acquiring the ib.com domain name, if they are, probably better not to reveal it before you are ready. If they are not, which is what I assume, then it is probably best not to send people to the wrong place!
It is on page 4 of the magazine, which you can find here if you want to flick through:
